Free As I’m Gonna Be

 

Worry may fall hard in the morning

I feel the course of my thoughts

Coming around once again

I suddenly pause the heartache and longing 

Remember - this is as free as I’m gonna be

 

Working all day, and rise with the dawning

And time is racing away

Money scarce on the ground

The sun's sinking late

Driving home with my baby

He’s singing “this is as free as we’re gonna be”

 

Times get hard

But when it’s alright

Look around…

 

The city she runs to raise my defenses
I need some music I love

Turn it up, and tear them down

Let it silence the world

Let it flood all my senses

I feel it.
